I have a blacklight that runs off 4 AA's an was curious if I could turn it into a molex powered uv light. The bulb itself looks like a cathode.

I'm pretty sure blacklights are UV. However you may have difficulty supplying it the correct voltage. 4 AA's should have a voltage of 6.4v's. I'd say wire it like you would a fan mod for 7v's.

That's what I was thinking. It runs at 1.5v, so I'd need 6v.

The wires of a molex connector go
yellow +12v black -12v black -5v red +5v so just connect the device you are using to the +12v and -5v wires. 12-5=7 ![]()

So you are saying that connecting to +12 and -12 will give you 0 volts? So what are we running our machines on air?
