Interesting idea.
Some one worked on a similar idea, using the same riser card idea too. Only issue is the battery life would be under 30 minutes, and the riser card would add latency, plus some other issues. However that was in a bat shaped case, and they expected to use it as a laptop. What sort of stuff are you going to be running? 3" is kind of tricky for a CPU cooler, let alone GPU + mobo stacked. Also airflow will be tricky, getting enough over components, and intaked right. Good luck man, and have fun!

Don't forget, laptop CPU's have a TDP of ~35 watts, compared to 65 of desktop CPU's.

I am aware of the 65W TDP of my E6400, and have factored it in
__________________using extreme PSU calc, the total system load is ~240W the PSU draws 300(65%efficient), the inverter will draw 310 (95% efficient) from the batteries 12-cell battery = 8600mAh * 10.8V = 92.88Wh X 2 = 185.84Wh ok its not two hours, its not even 1 ![]() i forgot my mistake. i guess i was only using 12V rail for system load (140W drain on 12V rail as opposed to the 240W total system load)
