Safe to use USB Laptop power as a charger for a pocket pc?

Well transformed a USB cabe to be able to power my pocket pc, and I am wondering will it be safe to let it charge a pocket pc with like a 400mhz CPU? and is there anyway to increase the amperage on a usb?
also its connected direct to mobo

yes it should be fine, some manufacturers(belkin) make USB cables to charge Pocket Pc and phones, I have one for my HTC TyTn II and its all good.

sorry to ask questions here... but how about using the laptop USB port to power 2 120mm case fans? (wanted to make a laptop cooler for my laptop)

Very common for laptop coolers on the market to be powered by the laptop's USB port; so it'll work no sweat.

USB provides .5A at 5v (2.5w) 120mm fans usually are 12v with a 7v startup (sometimes lower). Power consumption at 12v is usually 3-8w.

i click home too much
|
to cool a lappy use smaller and higher CFM fans on a fan controller. that way you can keep the power draw to a minimum

i agree with killa. probably thin 60-92mm fans should work fine. delta's if you're a baller
