Default How to theme your video card

TOOLS REQUIRED:
Plastic paint (I used Krylon Fusion spray paint)
Small Plexiglass sheets (available at your local hardware store)
Dremel or other rotary tool
Sticky back Velcro

Nothing looks worse than a video card with a color of PCB that doesn't match your motherboard or case theme. Today I set out to resolve the issue I had with a red PCB ATI video card and a white PCB motherboard.

As you can see the red card doesn't go well with the chrome, white and silver theme I was shooting for. With some black plastic paint (Krylon Fusion Gloss Black) a few thin sheets of plexiglass from your local home improvement store and a dremel tool you too can get similar results!

Bottom of the ATI 9800 card with Artic cooler installed

Top of the ATI 9800 card

First item was to cut some jagged edges into the plexiglass to follow the theme I carried on the case window and blowhole. I used two pieces of plexiglass, one for the top of the video card and one for the bottom of the video card. I also had to cut on a larger hole in the bottom piece for the Artic cooler's fan to breathe. After that part was done I then painted the two pieces of plexiglass with plastic paint. The nice part is since the plexiglass is clear you only have to paint one side!!

I then used velcro to secure the bottom piece of plexiglass to the card

After the bottom was complete I installed the video card back into the computer

I put some Velcro on the Artic cooler on the top side that way I wasn't doing anything that was actually touching the card itself

Looks much better with the hidden video card PCB
