Well I received a package from Petra's Tech; just UPS had to do their duty and beat up the box

What do we have inside? 4 sets of 10cm (4 in) blue CCFLs, 2 sets of 10cm green CCFLs, a free pen, and some UV red Feser Tube for my RAD-GT (will be posting more pics of that in my log when I get the chance to install it)

Getting to the meat of what we'll be needing for the radobases

Now it's time to get naked the inverters that is

No, the nudity doesn't stop there; the CCFLs followed suit
Since Logisys didn't have the hardcore modder in mind when making these CCFLs, they needed a bit of persuasion (sorry, no KY jelly for this part )
First I had to cut off most of the protective tube

Then cut on 2 opposite sides of the mounting cube

Then snap off one side of the cube

And pull out the light tube itself

Finally, a group photo; all the naked CCFLs

LOL, in Las Vegas at the InfoComm Convention (Pro AV stuff) this week, but this looks better than the whoker that tried to pick me up last night (I was pretty buzzed, but she looked like she had an Adam's Apple).

So the madness modding continues

Removed the stock wiring from the naked CCFLs (going all out custom this time) so here we have the naked inverters and fully undressed CCFL tubes

Setting them aside for a bit; the next step is to wire up the radobase CCFL indicator bus to link them to the GPO of the Matrix Orbital display; also had to make a PCI bracket to provide an elegant means of getting the wiring into the case.

Installed the mating connector on the radobase CCFL indicator bus and sleeved the cabling

Now moving on to the process of implanting the CCFLs in the panels of the radobase.

We need to reacquaint ourselves with my trusty router; just this time I'm using the plunge base rather than the fixed base

Setting up a jig to ensure that the the slots are cut straight

One slot cut

One dozen slots cut (2 per panel)

And to show that the slots are perfectly lined up on all the panels.

More to come but we're getting close Carl had better start getting the SR-1 and SR-2 prepped
