Inhale them as deep as you can, j/k. They are harmful, but in small doses they wont really do anything. Just try your best to not inhale any is all.

Only if its lead solder. I think most solder these days is 40 tin / 60 zinc.

I'm sure a lot of electrical engineers, guitar techs, ...other people...out there have been inhaling solder fumes for years, you should be good with just one hit

A lot of solders have a rosin flux core; fluxes do often contain chemicals that are potentially hazardous. In small doses there shouldn't be any immediate health risks, but you should try to avoid inhaling the fumes as much as possible.

when you melt the solder it gives off smoke, the smoke seems to be where most of the fumes are, so just avoid the smoke and you wont have to breath that stuff.
(just a note, my solder is 40% lead 60% tin or something like that. could be the other way around .)

Try putting a desktop fan blowing either to the side or away from you while you solder- That is what I do and I never inhale solder fumes. I do solder kind of frequently so it does warrant keeping myself safe from the fumes in the flux (as radodrill said).
