No, for a variety of reasons.

Basically what he is doing is adding a connector that wasn't shipped with the board because motherboard companies would rather sell two nearly identical (# of PCI slots being the big difference) motherboards for huge differences in price.

No thats not the case, they also take the scsi off when they leave the pci slots off. So it doesn't have the data transfer support. It will have power because it's pointless to take off the power when it is already disabled when they take off the chipset that supports the extra pci slots. That's why they are so much cheaper. Bare bones server board.

The OP confirmed that his and the next model up are using identical chipsets.

He's still working on it...

Hate to mention it, but the board may need a PCI controller IC...

Looks great none-the-less!

I am tempted to add in the 3rd pci-e slot onto my 680i LT mobo now.

Good luck!

sorry for not getting back guys.

I actually acquired RAM this week, but was not going to post until I had results

but as luck would have it my RAM stick was DOA

I will be contacting Kingston support Monday.. highly likely the outcome will be RMA that'll take probably another 2 weeks or so

then I'll hopefully have a new stick & will be posting back here with results..

sorry for exceptationally long delay.. I am a FT student, 5 days a week, 0800-1630

& thank u for the patience & support, muchly appreciated :bows:
