If the mod is a 100% success - I will attempt to put a PCI-Express x8 slot under the one currently already on the mobo (u can see the blank contacts/traces for it )

Wild motherboard mod, mate I totally envy your hands

Mistakes along the way (most recent up top):
- Ordering a 20' widescreen monitor then realizing you made a mistake while calculating the needed height. Bummer.
- Buying a 3870 a week before 48xx benchmarks surface.
- Having 2 HDDs and buying 2 more w/o checking if the mobo controller can perform past 3 disks in RAID0.
- Buying a Zalman VF-900Cu when even a badass overclock will keep your card alive for two years.

Pretty sweet mod. This would probably work for other components like SATA. To me most lower end mb are exactly the same as high end with just a few parts missing. I got an old ASUS board that has 4 SATA connections and 4 spots where there could be a SATA connection so I might give it a try.
