sorry for no updates!

here's whats happening:

the week I was gonna order the RAM, I started a new course (pre-apprentice for sparky ) - tutition fees were ~$1K - so there went the $ to get the RAM!

I am now in the process of waiting for $ to get the RAM; & it may be a while

I will certainly update here when I get the RAM in, promise :thumbup:

in the mean time, I'm just gonna have to sit tight *sigh*

Its not really an ISA bus, its an LPC bus. Software-wise there's no difference (it was kept the same for compatibility), but its used for all the legacy devices in your computer. Things like the floppy controller, serial/parallel ports, joystick ports, and PS/2 ports.

Thats like saying that an SATA hard drive is the same as a PATA hard drive because the software doesn't know the difference.

The ISA bus uses 40 pins (or something around there) and the LPC bus uses around 10 (again, I forget the exact number). The internal protocol is completely different than the ISA bus, and no matter how you hack it there's no way you can get an actual ISA device to work on it without a bridge. So its not ISA!
