you dont need a power supply other than the battery in the multimeter

OHMS = VOLTS/AMPS

it if emits 9 volts and the resistor is taking 0.03 amps, then the resistance is 270 ohms

hmm by the looks of ur LEDs, they may be those ones that can be used anywhere, to indicate wheather there's power or not...

try to connect one of them (the one u hate the most, cuz if it breaks there's not worry)
to a battery, see what happens

470K ohm?!?!?!!?!??!
ahhhhh i use 100ohm for 5v... so 12v will not need 470K for sure
try to return them

so what do I need 470ohm not 470k ohm? just a slight difference of 469,530 ohms!

wrong...if you use 100 ohm for 5v, that means that 0.05 amps are going through

(V=IR; I=V/R; I=5/100; I=0.05)

so, for 12 volts, and the same current (0.05 amps), the resistance in ohms is 240

(V=IR; R=V/I; R=12/0.05; R=240)

No, you have to take resistance of the LED into account, see FAQage in siggage.
