*Ahem*, 56k warning much? ![]() Quote:
Should've realised to only way to disable fan LED's is to get into the fan itself and cut wires, but then that would just ruin the point of LED fans. Good Good! The reason I'm doing it is that most people only install fan controllers in their systems, to cut noise. I always hear some people talking bout how they love their LED fans, but when they sleep they would like them off. This is what I plan to do. The max noise out of any one of my fans would be ~34dBa so it's not loud, just very Luminescent, if you will. So if I'm just D/L at night or idling, I can shut them completely off when I want. (I'll still keep intake/exhaust though.) I'm gonna have (All LED mind); 4x 80mm Red side intakes; 1x 120mm Green front Intake; 2x 120mm Green top exhausts; and 1x 92mm Green rear exhaust. It might seem strange to have so many side intakes but with my case it's easier than having a couple of large 120mm's. Hell, I'll show you some pics now. (They're quite large so I'll leave them as attachments.) Basically, for each one of my 'before' shots I'm going to take an 'after' to compare. My after shots will include the fans + 8800 GTX + Corsair HX-620 + [Noctua NH-C12P *maybe*] + Some serious cable management.

One question for the OP, have you already purchased the fans? The reason I ask is that the A.C.Ryan Blackfire 4 LED fans have a separate wiring harness for the LEDs so that you can easily turn off the fan LEDs while leaving the fan running; you could then use the switched sunbeam fanbus to control the LEDs in the fans

The ones I'm getting are $7.00 and have the same specs, but they only have 1 Yr warranty and no packaging, which I don't care about. OEM

Performance-PCs stocks the 120mm Blackfire 4 fans for $12.95 ea. and the 80mm Blackfire 4 fans for $8.95 ea. I know they're more expensive than as lot of other fans on the market, but nowhere close to $19.00. I have 6 of the 120mm Blackfire 4 Kameleons running in my rig and they really are nice fans.

D'oh
I forgot to check the location and take into consideration the exchange rates between currencies.

Right now we get ~$0.65 USD for every $1.00 AUD, so for a AC Ryan Fan @ $13.00 that's $20.25 Australian. P.S All the Fans I'm getting have roughly the same specs as the AC Ryan's. (The only difference is about +5dBa for each fan.) Details are as follows: 80mm - $2.00 @ 2500RPM/ 32.4 CFM/ 27.4 dBA 92mm - $6.00 @ 2800RPM/ 48.1 CFM/ 34.5 dBA 120mm - $7.00 @ 2000rpm/ 77.7 CFM/ 32.95 dBA
