Well, as an update to my PC's condition, apparently my Professional Cable Management System™ caught the screw that was loose, and it seems to be fine!... But unfortunately with all the oddities my PC has been giving me, I'm going to have to reformat.

My first mess up was about 3 years ago. It was my third build from new. I had made other previous systems though out of old parts.

I set about putting the Mobo in, and being a new case the risers were not installed. I knew nothing about this and proceded to build it.

Build complete, although i was confused why all the PCI slots etc were about 1 cm above the socket for the screw. In my retardness i contuined on and turned it on.

Well, That was my first and last time i could say hi to my new pc. The chip and mobo were fired.

R.I.P AMD 4800+ X2 Can't remember what the mobo was now.

Nothing that was actually my fault, that I can remember, but I have had a LOT of close calls.

One ASUS socket A board I had, had a chip fall off it, but it still worked for a week or two (Long enough to get a new board), I chipped the CPU die on a Celeron D 430, now that Celeron works at 3.4Ghz constantly, I chipped the die on my Athlon XP 2600+, it only works sometimes, but that's probably either the motherboard or Graphics Card (TNT2 FTW!).

Oh, and my main rig has just stopped working randomly, takes a few boots to get it to work sometimes, but it always works in the end.

Once I bought an Ultra X-Connect power supply. Do I need to go any further with the explanation?

The first computer I ever built(well, kinda - had my dad's friend show me how to build a computer and taught me how to set jumpers and place everything) had one of the old Pentium 150s.

Well, I was sitting around one day, playing Doom 2, when suddenly I heard this pop from inside the case. Magic dust shot out of the back and then some smoke.

I stared, aghast, and took the top off of the computer. The area around the processor was completely scorched as if it had been on fire. I learned later that this was a common problem with that particular processor.

I had a customer drop off an old 1987 rig with dual floppies and a turbo button. It looked like new, and had NO DUST on nor in it. I was curious to see what OS it was running, so I plugged in the PSU and hit the power button.. there was an immediate loud POP and smoke began to pour out of the back of the PSU...
