Mine is not as bad as other people here but...
Well couple days ago i was cleaning my friends cpu from dust with compressed air, so i start doing the pins, then all of sudden the damn straw flies out and bends 5 pins flat, been working on straightening them for about a day. Next time ill tape the straw to the compressed air, lesson learned.M

There is some classic moments in here (like the BBQ'ed mouse xD )

Anyways, I was looking at a friends busted Compaq to see if parts of it can't be saved. I already figured out the onboard videocard fried by the nice burn mark on it, but the rest of the computer booted and posted fine. Well, when I starting to put it together, I must of rubbed the carpet wrong with my sock and built up enough of a charge to fry something. Well, I noticed the Capslock key on the keyboard was blinking weird, like I shorted a compasitor (i know the spelling is off :/), Well, the computer now wouldn't boot and the RAM in it was fubared.

Needless to say, I looked at my friend and told him that his computer now was a giant, time keeping paperweight. He did get a better computer and swapped the HDD from the old one to the new one, so I guess it wasn't a complete loss

Well, he pops, I get him, take him to 5%, then my PSU decides to pop also. Loud cracking noise, screen goes black, smell burned plastic.

Look under my desk, the PSU is shooting flames out the back. I jump down, rip the cables out of my pc(had to replace the vga cable as it was screwed in) Take the screws out of my psu, take the side panel off, cut the wires off with some pliers I had nearby, threw the PSU across the room. After this point I THEN decided to hit the on fire PSU with the extingisher.

Needless to say, a few 2nd degree burns, a dead psu, a saved computer, and some lucky asshat who now has a knife that took me another 6 months of trying every day to get...

When I had a crappy old Celeron 500 PC from HP....one day I was just browsing online, still amazed at the blazing slowness, until all of the sudden I hear a POP and then my monitor blinked and the computer shut down and never booted up again .

Oh and another story I recently fried a motherboard and to this day I still don't know how i did it and never found out what the problem was as I never did any sort of overclocking on it.

The motherboard fried itself after only a week of use froze in Windows and then the dreaded burning smell came on and the system would freeze on the bios screen no matter what.

Gigabyte where kind enough to send me a replacement board which i ended up selling.

After finishing my case mod I started to assemble the pc in the basement. Had everything on and perfect. I plugged in my psu to the wall socket and flipped the switch. With my hand still on the psu I felt this tingling sensation go through my body. TBH it must've dulled me cause I just stood there, hand on psu, enjoying this electrical current rippling through me. Well obviously the board fried from this. Learnt that my basement has a shoddy wall socket.
