Default Headphones + microphone = ghetto mod

So I was bored one day and decided to make myself a headset out of my headphones and microphone.

I took my Koss PortaPro's, which are my main headphones, and hot glued some velcro to them. (The duct tape over the pressure switch thing is to keep a piece of rubber there that I put in to keep the slider from sliding onto Firm mode by itself all the time.)

I ripped out a microphone boom from an old landline phone headset. I hot glued some thick cardboard to the boom, and velcro on top of that (to make it at an even level). Then I just clipped the microphone onto the boom (the mic's clip is way too huge to clip onto any wire or shirt). Then I put the foam cover on the mic, which I also got from the old headset, and used a rubber band to keep the wire in place.

The result is a fully functional microphone boom for my headphones, creating an awesome headset. The velcro easily holds the mic and it doesn't wobble around. I can easily attach and remove the mic, and the velcro on the headphones is the soft part, and it doesn't look too bad (not like I care about the looks).

The sound quality also increased greatly because of the foam thing on the mic and I guess since the boom holds it, it doesn't pick up any noise from when it rubs against my shirt when it's clipped on.

Nice one. Here's my old ghetto mic+headphone mod.

1x $15 garbage headset
1x $10 microphone that picks up all audio within a km radius
1x bottle cap
1x metal coat hanger
Lots of tape and super glue

Picks up all sound within a KM radius. Oh do I know what you mean. A friend of mine had a mic like that for a while and we used skype daily. Because he had headphones on and such a sensitive mic I'd know what was going on in his house before he did.
