I agree. Use the 22 ohm resistors.

Ok thanks. I'll post it when done but it won't be for a while because the LED's are coming from China.

Some of the stuff I read in this thread wants to make me pull my hair out.. Please read this thread http://www.overclock.net/other-hardw...lp-needed.html to understand why parallel is NEVER EVER EVER better when you can go series for a LED... Btw.. 50 5mm LEDs would not be bright at all.. For bike lights you need to get into the >1 Watt LED and greater to get more brightness and reliability for the money... You can build a usable (many times brighter than 50 5mm LEDs) >200lm Cree LED headlight for less than $15... I wish I came in earlier.. oh well...

I disagree with you in that thread, and agree totally with what Du-z stated. It will work to run them in parallel. It also agrees with what I stated earlier, and with the schematic I posted with LED's in parallel with one resistor going to each led. As far as 50 in parallel, with one resistor, or 25 x2 (which is now what the OP has decided to do); yeah, its not the greatest design, but I wonder whether it will truly effect the life span by a considerable time frame? I think it is worth trying. Btw, what voltage will be required to run 50 LED's in series?

Also, it would be impossible to get the voltage needed to run 50 LED's at 3.4v in series from a portable set of batteries.

Sorry I forgot to post the pics. I took them and put them on my computer, but I guess I never posted them. Well here it is. Except now that I got a new bike it doesn't attach to the handlebars. I might also split it up and make two 25 LED lights so I can run them on normal AA's and it'll be much smaller. However on this bike, even though the light is big, it doesn't wobble much. And it is incredibly bright. I went camping with it and it easily outshined the other big lights people had.
