So first, what is it and how does it work?
The project is actually building somthing that can turn any surface to touch screen. The principle is that you have a camera that sees only the IR, and transmits the information of axis-X and-Y to the computer using the Bluetooth connection. Computer decodes the information and knows where to move the mouse\how many times you clicked, etc.. This camera is actually the-WIIMote (the remote of the game console WII) signals of-IR, are made using a special pen, which includes button and IR LED, when you press the button (hold it down) the IR LED is lighting up and the camera see it. * I do not know if you know it or not, but you can not see IR light with the human eye, but almost all digital cameras see IR light, so when you see pictures of the-IR on, remember that in reality, you not really see it. what this project include? * Ordering equipment - all orderd except the BT dongel. * Fixing the WIIMote, so the camera see the the whole screen and I do not hide it. * Arrange special battery power cable I bought. * replace the LED on the 4-in-1 pen, to-IR LED. * Installing the software on Windows, Linux and Hackint0sh What I have orderd? The-WIIMote (sold together with Nunchok); Rechargeable battery, which allows charging while the WIIMote in use: ![]() Pen includes a flashlight, when his LED replaced with IR LED: ![]() Quality IR LED, recommended by many users and the developer of smoothboard (for those who want the exact model: Vishay TSAL6400 IR LED): ![]() Video explaining the technology: I'd be happy to receive suggestions, comments and of course also answer your questions.

I would love to make one for home and/or help my school. We are buying interactive whiteboards at school right now.

Well, there are alrady schools that use this techniq, with the wiimote, ir pen.
but the software, that i will use, is free to home use but for schools it cost mony. the site: http://johnnylee.net/projects/wii/ the forum: http://www.wiimoteproject.com/index.php I suggest you, to use smoothboard (the software that i talked about), and not the open source edition (this in case, you using windows os, for linux\mac os - use the original software that called whiteboard).

I found a nice solution for the WIIMote stand.
I took an old lamp, comes with two options of fixing: Large clips with rubber (after two years it took off the coating of the shelf). Or option of screwing it to the table / wall. Since the clips not open enough to fix it on the table, I decided to use the screwing option, but instead of screw, I put on it something heavy. Also, the lamp was unable to turn around 360 degrees - so I can adjust it throw the screen. ![]() ![]() Exemple with other remote laying around my room:

Update:
The BT donagel and the 4 in 1 pen came to me at the 2 last days. But i found that the pen do'nt take apart, so i cant change his LED to IR led, so i'll not use it in this project. The little BT: ![]() ![]() ![]() The pen: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
