Default What should I do with this?

Was bored, decided to dismantle an old 16-port 10mbit ethernet switch (rackmount) i had laying around. What would be a cool mod/project to make using the chassis and/or the power supply in the switch?

A lookup of the model number of the power supply, SMP-43EP-8 returns a datasheet: http://www.surplustraders.net/specs/th497.pdf

It looks like it produces +12v/+5v up to 55W.

Heres some pictures of what I have to work with. Sorry about the crap quality - i need a new cellphone :/

P.S. I used my multimeter to verify that all the capacitors were discharged before i started handling anything inside - I'd rather this be a fun project not an electrical burn project.

I like the idea of a watercooling rig. I checked and there are several pumps that would fit inside the 1U space. I have exactly 1 9/16" space (approx. 39.6mm) inside to work with, and the Swiftech MCP355 pump is 1.5" high. I could fit the pump in one corner, giving me room to fit a decent-sized reservoir. Then, two fittings on the back (in/out) which could be attached to any watercooling system.

Another option wold be creating a two-bay SATA drive enclosure, as I have a SATA pass-thru peice that came with a mobo, and i also have some other parts that would work for that.

And of course, it would need to be painted and spiffed up a good deal

thats a good idea do a lil raid box lol hell maybe even doing all your hdds and a sata dvd burner on the side so you have room for a w/c rig

so just a lil box to hold one or 2 5.25 and 3 or 4 3.5 and the psu and a fan or 2 lol

Ok, I like the first idea for a watercooling setup in this chassis. Attached is my plan for it. I haven't watercooled before but IIRC the reservoir comes directly before the pump, right?

I'm also looking at the Swiftech MCP355 12V pump, because its one of the few that has the correct dimensions to fit in a 1U rackmount chassis.
