i few days ago i was just browsing the forums like i normally do and i stumbled across this thread
http://www.overclock.net/other-hardw...eo-update.html my first thought was "no way", after some research (thank you youtube.com ) i found out that it is actually possible to use a hard drive as a speaker, so i went through my pile of crap and found the victim, an old hard drive, i have no idea what size it was but im guessing not much since its single platter, i pop the cover and discover the beauty of a hard drive (you know) ![]() i then got an old microphone and cut off the mocrophone itself, leaving just the cable and the jack on the other side, i stripped the cable on the end and was left with two wires, so i connected the jack to my computer, put on some music and began randomly trying connections on the hard drive, from what i saw before i had a pretty good idea of where i should connect them after few tries i came acroos the two little dots on the side of the little arm those were where i needed to connect the wires, since there was no way for me to connect them there i followed the cable down to the white connector and found out that luckily my cables are the two on the left, so i flipped the hard drive over and thats where i stuck the wires into ![]() ![]() then i used crazy glue (simply awesome) to secure it into place and made a little loop to secure the cable to the hard drive, at this point i was pretty much done with the mod, luckily when i tested it it worked like a charm ![]() the only problem is that its soo quiet, so i tried using the amplifier and it did help somewhat but even on the highest volume it was not too loud, but hey, its not what hard drives are designed for so im still happy that it works ![]() thanks for the read
