Smile Haf 922 Custom painting HELP!!!!!

Hi I have recently ordered a haf 922 mid tower case. I wanted to do some custom painting and this is my first time so i just had a few questions. When I sand my Case wouldn't it scratch my case? I know this is a stupid question but someone please help me.

And my very very important question is that if I wanted to add my own design on the case how do I actaully do it? Maybe like letters spelling out my clan. or something. how do you actually do that? Do i print out the letters and then cut it out form it and stick it on my case and paint over it? what is the best way? Thank you@!

Sanding is supposed to scratch the case, the paint, not the metal. It makes small abrasions in the paint so the primer can stick to it and make a nice base suitable for your first coat of paint.

You can make your own design a few ways, like you were saying, making stencils, using tape to create lettering... or what I'm planning on doing when I paint my girlfriend's case, applying a high quality vinyl sticker (that says whatever you want) to the paint's top coat and then applying clear coat after that.

You should probably start with something simple until you've mastered the basics of painting, sanding, and finishing. "Simple" meaning a solid, single color paint job.

when I painted my haf932, I didn't sand anything...i used grey automobile primer put 2 nice coats, its quick-dry...after 15 min i did 5 think layers of matt black... let it dry under a few fans for about 5 hours, the next day all my parts were it in and it was up and running. Solid paint job, IMO no need for sanding unless you want to take apart the case
