Need help modding Window A/C unit's thermostat
I need some help. Making a water chiller out of a window air conditioning unit. I have pretty much completed the unit, except now I am ready to mod the thermostat. The existing thermostat only goes down to 64F. I need one that will go to -30C, preferably -40C to give me a little headroom.
Here's the problem. I have no experience with this whatsoever. Can anyone point me in the right direction on what to do? Where can I buy a digital thermostat that will reach these temperatures? (preferably as cheap as possible) How do I wire it in to the existing control panel of the A/C unit?
Edit: Explain it to me like I'm stupid. Because when it comes to wiring, I ride the short bus.
