Thanks for posting those pics!

I have never seen one of these in action, or the parts for that matter. Man! Sure looks like a lot of fun.

Can't wait to see some of the work you turn out!

programing a 5 axis laser offline from cad data to G-Code. I got a sweet program for it but i can't afford to bring it home I'll post some pics of my home shop when i get a chance. its a mess right now though..
I use cheap CAM software right now. Vector 32 is one I currently own.

I thought I would give everyone an update before I hit the sack tonight- I have decided on a vise!
http://www.littlemachineshop.com/pro...ProductID=1590
Along with these clamping blocks:
http://www.littlemachineshop.com/pro...ProductID=2675

Total: $70 before shipping. Not too bad IMO for a vise.

Need to get a piece of 1/4" thick sheet aluminum to drill and tap for standoffs to mount all these components!

The body and jaws are hardened to Rc 58-62. All sides are flat, square and parallel to 0.0002".

That's tasty.

Wouldn't aluminum be kinda soft to hold anything precisely?

Expensive true, but I believe it will be well worth it. Quality servos, a quality vise and soon quality endmills make the finished product...quality.

Just contacted a friend who owns some Bridgeports down the Cape, and he said he could drill the mounting holes for standoffs. I am going to head down there ideally sometime during the next few weeks and get the plate drilled to mount all the PCB's. I also need to pick up a parallel port printer cable, as well.

Gonna make a Home Depot run today to hopefully find some standoffs and some wire to at least get this wired up, so I can see some movement!

Okay, I am getting home around 6PM each night this week, so I am going to try to cross 1 thing off my list of miscellaneous stuff to do each night.

Monday: Wire up the motors with the wiring harness (Already have the harness)
Tuesday: Wire up the servo drivers with the other half of the harness (Again, already have the second half of the harness)
Wednesday: Look at some more documentation RE the connection between the servo drivers and the PMDX board, and hopefully get a CAD drawing of the mounting plate done.

Thursday/Friday, dunno
