I've got this recommendation a couple of times lol, but face it, millions of people use it, and if I want a song, I'm not going to use torrent for that lol, and I just don't feel the need of getting emule or whatever because I never got a single infection due to Limewire on my PC just because I keep an updated antivirus and because I know how to look. This may sound common sense to you as it sounds to me, but for some people, I'm sure it's not.

Another suggestion would be to not use Limewire at all There are much better ways of file sharing....

Agreed. uTorrent is usually faster if your downloading a popular album. I also think it's a little more organized seeing as it just places the downloaded files straight into a local directory (Like my music, etc) instead of putting them in some distant system directory located deep in the confines of windows' program files making it so that the normal computer user can only play their audio while IN the actual program.

Torrents generally have a more mature audience as well. Meaning you won't get some bogus spyware in the download.

My personal opinion -- why the hell would anyone make a P2P client in Java? Limewire is Java based! It's heavy on system resources and has to load the whole JRE in order to perform correctly & functionally. WHY would ANYONE use something like that when they can download a torrent program that is faster, more mature, more organized and more efficient and RUN it using around 0.2mb of memory? It's also C/Windows based so you don't have to have any additional software library/db such as the JRE installed.

Sorry, I just get worked up easily.

But gemme a break, right? I mean who's the moron who thought it would be "cool" to write a p2p program in Java? .....idiot

It's in java because almost every OS supports it. Limewire is used on os 9 and X, linux, and windows. That's why it's in Java.

I understand that, but there are much more operating system friendly object oriented programming languages out there that aren't as bulky as Java.
