torrents are definitely the way to go, they are much safer as you can see what you are downloading before you start the torrent, and plus with utorrent, you can leave off whatever you dont want to download in the torrent. Comes in very handy

If this already hasn't been said then I'll say it: There is a leaked WLM 9.0 beta, there has been for months, back in 2007.

for nearly everything: torrents (namely utorrent as the best client)

for obscure songs: soulseek

if you absolutely have to use something like limewire: frostwire

Safer. It is very hard to get file sharing completely safe, and if you are willing to go to that much trouble. May as well just buy the CD.

Or not^^ My friends AM2 Mobo CD had Jeefo W32 on it so I couldn't hold my laughter when I popped it in my PC cuz it wouldn't start on his PC.

Nothing is 100% safe.

uTorrent is great for downloading 'torrents' but for downloading random..sometimes obscure songs limewire is one of the best. Basically if you know what to look out for you will be fine and usually stay clear of any viruses/trojans...

Torrents also can be very harmful but it all depends on the source of the torrent. For instance if you just search for a torrent in google you are most likely to come up with a pretty unknown torrent site supplying bluff torrents and really viruses... just make sure you use a torrent site that is well known...

For instance... some examples of good torrent sites....
