Nah, I no longer have to worry about squeezing an extra .5% from switching from PKZip to LHARC to fit files on a 1.44MB floppy.

If development is at version .06 ?!? then it has to have major bugs in it. I personally wouldn't use a program unless it was up to .7

I have never encountered any errors, I'm actually emailing the programmer. I'm going to ask about this specifically.

I have used this on and of for ages and it's pretty good. It does take a while to compress stuff compared to other formats but does usually give better results(as shown above)

For time/compression ratio 7zip donkey rapes everything out there imo.

With regard to stability issues i have found it to be very stable.

If you feel this passionately would you do me a favor? Try to contact the author (i tried before, failed) and see if you can get the source to the command line version.

Off course, but the author didn't say what compression method of 7Zip he used.
I personally use PPMd compression w/ 384MB Dictionary... and if I need to compress text files I use bzip2.

Uharc is good.. I remember that Dune 3 compressed was ~ 380MB , Uncompressed - ~1300MB. But not as good as 7Zip. And it's well up mostly in multimedia.
