Hi
__________________I have Vista Ultimate x64 and Windows Live Messenger 9 beta and i keep getting a 8004888d error. This is when typing in the address box it is slow to keep up but when inputting the password it keeps up. Then virtually straight after pressing "Sign In" it comes up with the said error. Other people in my house can get on messenger so its not a common router problem also I can connect to the internet fine. I've been on the Microsoft website and been on this page: http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/Sho...76326&SiteID=1 I have followed through the first "fix" and about four or five .dll files failed to load. Still no change with Live Messenger even after a restart. The "safer key folder" regedit "fix" does not work as I don't have that folder in my registry. Also the "gpedit.msc" "fix" did not work as I don't have anything in the "Trusted Publishers" folder Also as of doing some of these "remedies" Windows Update has badgered up and even though it worked earlier today and said I could have the Silverlight update. It now says that my "Most recent check for updates" is never and also it says that for "Updates were installed" When I tell it to search for updates it comes up with the error Code C80003FA I believe that is all Thanks in advance

Are you sure your date and time are correct? Believe it or not, but some Microshaft services tend to not work if your date and time are off...my messenger hasn't signed in because I'm an hour fast, for some reason...
