Default Question with burning DVDs

I was wondering if it is possible to burn several movies to a DVD and make some sort of interface that can choose which movie to play. Sorry, I am new to this stuff lol. Thanks.

If your DVD player can recognize & play MPEG or DivX formats, you can burn the files to disc. In terms of DVD creation, I don't know of any free programs that will let you create menu's & whatnot.

If you want to backup your discs, check out DVDShrink. To convert the .vob & .ifo files, use AutoGK. Both are freeware, both are excellent.

Did your DVD drive come with Nero software? If so you can create costom DVDs using the "make your own DVD video" option.

DVD Decrypter + DVD Shrink = Win.
Awesome combination for backing up DVDs.

It's a pity that DVD Decrypter has not been (and will not be?) updated for so long.

A trial version of Nero used to be able to burn custom menu Video CDs, so I imagine it could burn DVDs with the same setup. Formatting the DVD to be playable (not a data DVD) will take up some space in addition to the movies, so keep that in mind. Unless you can find a good compression program that still allows the disc to be played in a standard DVD player, you will only be able to fit as many movies on there as there is space, obviously, so if we are talking full-length DVDs here you probably won't be able to do much.

Yeah even with a dual-layer(8GB) menus will take up a good portion of space.

If you want to cram a bunch of movies on one DVD, I recommend not making the menus animated, that takes up even more space.

Can't believe I forgot about DVD Decrypter! It is a great program for sure.

@ Megaman_90: with DVD Shrink you can remove dubs, subs, menus, extra features....etc. Very handy for making backups.
