Default Converting video to MP4 for PSP with subtitles?

So i want to put a video on my PSP. I record from AVI to MP4 to notice that theres no subtitles recorded into the video, not is the PSP capable of using subtitles. I've done allot of work and can't find a way to take my video, convert to .mp4, then add subtitles so that i can still read them at the lower resolution. Or even get the subtitles to be part of the video for that matter. Anyone know how to do this?

Trying to use SuperC.

I think PS3 Video 9 would do it. You need to place the subtitle file in the same directory and name of the particular AVI.

edit: All subtitles are “burned” into the video, doesn't support MKV files.

The subtitles for all my videos are integrated into the files. And most of my videos are MKV. That is why i don't use PSP Video 9.

Using CCCP, right?
Go to Combined Community Codec Pack (in the start menu) -> Filters -> Haali's Media Splitter Settings. Go to Options -> Compatibility -> Autoload VSFilter and set Value to Yes.

The roundabout way of doing it (what I do) is convert the mkv's to vob using convertxtodvd and use dvdfab platinum to convert the vob to avi, mp4, etc and select the option for subtitles "encode into video". Now these programs cost money but I'm sure you could find something similar in a freeware program if you want to be legal about it.

Dvdfab website: http://www.dvdfab.com/

Edit: in case whatever converter you use doesn't like the sub format that your mkv's are in (I know some don't like .ass) you may want Mkvtoolnix (http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkv...downloads.html to extract subs and Subtitle workshop (http://www.urusoft.net/download.php?lang=1&id=sw) to convert them to a friendly format.
