Default NOD 32 3.0 anti virus help...
Im trying to install eset nod32 and it gives me this error. why in this.
i went to microsoft to download the latest windows installer. and that didnt work and im not in safe mode either. so why is it doing this? and it is 64bit version.

Check out this article. It should apply to Vista as well. Keep me updated. I hope it helps

thanks and try this method and didnt work at all

Try the following (Originally found here):

Look in your Windows\System32 folder for a 0 byte file named "msiexec" with no extension. If it's in there delete it then try to run NOD32 again. Just to reiterate the file will be a 0 byte file called "msiexec" with no file extension (don't delete "msiexec.exe").

You should. If you don't then you have bigger problems than the windows installer not working. C:\Windows\System32 is the path to the folder. If you can't find it type System32 in the search field of the start menu.

Oh ok I misunderstood you then. I'll see if I can find anything else to try.

EDIT: I just noticed you have driver signing disabled. Sometimes that can cause odd errors. re-enable it and see what happens when you try to install NOD
