cool program songbird, its neat and organized much better than the zune player. but it dosnt support zune mp3 devices

A friend of mine uses something called yamipod I believe, not sure how good it is though, I've never used it.

I've used it before and it's a decent program - but it's not great for a large amount of files. However, the main reason I don't use it is because it can't transfer video. It creates conflicts with iTunes as well.

I just got Winamp running and it works great! Nice and fast, and it only took 45 min. to transfer my files (compared with 10 hours!)... Tomorrow I will try it with my iPod and see how the audio and video transfer work.

Yeah, all Winamp does is create a list of songs, but iTunes does a bunch of other crazy stuff, who even knows what. I happen to use iTunes because it's very usable and organized, but I "only" have 16k songs (75GB).

I'd throw Rockbox on your Ipod, drag & drop is really nice. As for your PC have you tried Foobar?

Foobar has the worst file management of just about any program. Winamp's is miles above foobar, file management wise.

i have never used anything but winamp. it does everythig music related that i need it too. nevr have i lost a song, or has it choked once. currently 362gigs on my file server here at the pad. try it you will agree. plus you can listen to shoutcast radio if you get bored.
