Default 500 Gb of Music - iTunes sucks!

Hi all,

Well, among the many reasons I do not need to explain, iTunes has pissed me off for the last time.

It seems to have an issue with my rather large library of 80,000 songs and 500 Gb.

I would like to transfer music and videos to my iPod without trouble, and I would like a program that can manage 80,000+ songs and several playlists of hundreds of songs.

If anyone has found a better way to do this, please let me know!

Thanks in advance!

That's an unreasonably huge library. I would be surprised to see any music management app that wouldn't choke on 80k songs.

I'm sure you obtained these legally?
=D

But since its Apple, you get the advantage of miniscule allowances for 3rd party programs.

Any way you look at it, I don't think they design programs to handle 80k Songs.

Winamp has iPod-synching capabilities built-in at the moment, I believe. I have around 200GB of music and it's never choked one bit. Give it a try

I know it is more music than anyone should have, but I can't throw any of it out, and it is nice to hear older stuff now and then. I could leave the music playing for a year before the library began to repeat. I put the player on random and get a great mix of music... not the same old played out crap you hear on the radio (not to mention the ads). And please don't tell me to get satellite radio...

It normally plays fine on my PC, but sometimes the whole library gets wiped clean... and do you realize how long it takes to load 80,000 songs with the album artwork? I have to leave it for about 10 hours.

The worst part is how the iPod will not load onto other PC's. I reloaded Windows and now must wipe my iPod to reload my music... pain in the arse...

I was looking into Winamp. Any experience with that?

Winamp is a great program...Probably the best iPod alternative

http://getsongbird.com/

Songbird is also very good, it is made by mozilla, the people who make Firefox.
