Simply put, it won't import the .avi I recorded from fraps. It will accept it, and crash instantly after.

Thing is, Youtube won't accept the raw .avi, so I can't just post it anyways. Found this out the hard way with an LFS vid. It's also 3.5gb, so the upload will take forever anyways.


Any suggestions on how to force WMM to actually do it's damn job?

http://www.dvdshrink.org/If you have nero also download dvdshrink, you can then open the file with dvdshrink and it by default uses nero to make a dvd.

Wondering if you have Vista.

If you do

Just wondering; Do you have "Vista Ready-Nero 7" because this program fully crashes WMM. If you do uninstall it, and you should be good.

Do you have intervideo or Divx as a codec? Intervideo somehow interferes with Movie Maker and usually makes it slower and/or causes it to crash, so be sure to edit the options and disable Intervideo. Go to tools - settings - compability, and uncheck Intervideo box(es). DivX is pure evil when working with Movie Maker, and is another reason for crashes.

I have no nero whatsoever. I have Daemon Tools, that's about as close as I come...

Edit: And it's not even running right now...


Also, no intervideo boxes. I must not have Div-X then. I thought I did tho...lol


Also, as listed in my sigrig, I do have Vista. It's how I got WMM in the first place :P

Well....... Hmm I don't know then. Have you tried uninstalling and going into the Windows update and reinstalling it?

It seems that when you uninstall and then reinstall. about two days later it crashes again. Sooooo. Do you have any testing programs that logs errors?

Also, on a side note, the video in question was re-recorded with Wegame and uploaded there. Still, I may fraps other things, so I'm still gonna try to get WMM to work.

Also, better results with WMM 2.6. apparently I need to find and install a .avi codec...

Did you install those codecs I sugested?
Theres a pack of codecs there. If you isntall nero, Nero has a codec. also try this codec pack. works well with WMM. Here
