Default Burn VOB file from mkv2vob

Hi All

I have just used the program mkv2vob to convert a mkv video into a VOB file so that I can burn it to DVD disc, however I'm unsure of what program to use and how to do it.

I've tried DVDfab, DVD Shrink but none of them like the VOB file. I have nero also but not sure which function to use.

Is there something I'm missing??

Oh and happy new year!

Use ImgBurn, you can write the files directly to a disc or I think you can convert them into an ISO and then burn, whichever you choose.

that wont work the DVD wont play in a stand alone DVD which I belive slamminuk is trying to do. The VOB needs to authored so that it is in DVD format first then you can use IMG to make an ISO and burn it.

The file is a 720p film by using these programs will it loose quality? I will be burning it onto a dual layer disc.

If you are trying to make a DVD so that it will play on a stand alone DVD then yes.The only time you dont lose quality is when your working with a lossless format. The highest resolution you can use is 720x576 PAL format so its gonna downsize the video and quality to make it DVD complaint.Using a dual layer probably wont matter much, I personally wouldnt use them most of them are junk except verbatim. Now if you are just trying to burn it to DVD you can just burn the MKV as a data disc but Im guessing thats not what you are trying to do.

isnt mpeg2 the default that will play on a stand alone? in that case it would be easy just to search for a program that will go from VOB to mpeg2... idk

He's obviously not trying to make it play on a standalone DVD player if he used mkv2vob, because mkv2vob's purpose is to get HD MKVs with AVC+AC3 in them to play on the PS3.

Just burn the VOB as a file. You don't need any DVD authoring programs.

OP: If you do actually want to burn it for a DVD player, then this won't work. A VOB with HD AVC on it will only play on a PS3.
If you want to play it on a standalone Blu-ray player, then mkv2vob can do that too (but with m2ts instead of vob), albeit with some restrictions. Do a google search for that as I'm not sure exactly how.

Hi Coma

You have said to just burn the VOB file, but how would I do that?
