Default Software for 3d models

I need software for making 3d models, possibly with a few small animations (a part moving up and down). Does anyone have any experience with this? The cost of the program is not an issue. I have used Google Sketchup and I don't care for it.

Thanks.

+ s for the responses.

I am essentially looking for a replacement for CAD software, with a little animation. I have used Solid Works in the past but the edition that has the animation editor is very expensive.

It doesn't matter until you want to buy a $5k Solid Works License.

I will look into those.

Edit: That open source one looks pretty good. I will try all of them out, I'm looking for one that I can pick up pretty quickly but not be too limiting on features.

Good Luck

I didn't exactly mean easy. Blender would do the job, but its not exactly designed for what I'm looking for, which will make it difficult.

I tried a demo of Cinema 4D architectural edition and its my favorite so far. I was able to pick up most of the features really quickly. Is there any other software similar to this in features and application, but better?

Cinema 4D is ~$2000, but its being paid for by my company. Cost isn't an issue until you tell them you want $5k for just the software....
