I did a live broadcast which was recorded onto a DVD and I need to convert the DVD on my computer to .avi so I can edit parts of it into premiere for the final DVD, any suggestions? I have the entire adobe suite but never had to do this. Thanks guys!

You could try XviD4PSP, to convert a DVD into AVI or MP4.

Don't convert it to AVI. You want to import the VOBs into Premiere.
__________________Look at the structure of the VIDEO_TS folder - look for the first large VOB. You want all the VOBs in its "family" that follow it, eg:
Import those, sequentially, into Premiere. There can be more than three VOBs, or there can be only one. The sequence starts at the first large VOB and ends at the first small VOB following that large VOB. When there's only 1 VOB, it'll be the first largest but not 1GiB (or exactly 1GiB), and there will be no other VOBs following it in its family (family = VTS_*_01_*).

If you want to use Virtualdub to edit, get the MPEG-2 plugin. Virtualdubmod is old and buggy.
