I recently updated to messenger 2009, and I noticed that if I hover over a contact, a transparent tooltip/menu appears with some options for the contact.
The problem is the options it provides are already on the context menu, and all it does it make the UI more cluttered and harder to use. I was wondering if anyone knew of maybe a patch or an extension that can disable it, or know how to modify the executable so that the menu won't pop up constantly. Thanks! ![]() DO NOT WANT!

Have you thoroughly gone through all of Windows Live Messenger's options yet? I mean, I am willing to bet that there's an option to disable this. It's probably a checkbox somewhere in the options related to the Appearance, or related to the Contact List.

Yep, I looked through the options several times, but there doesn't seem to be a way to turn this off

lol Windows Live Messenger just keeps getting worse and worse, doesn't it?
Perhaps this is something they think is too cool to have an option to get rid of. However, I still think there's a way to get rid of it. I mean, there has to be. I'm almost tempted to install it and see what I can find. After all, sometimes it just takes a fresh pair of eyes.
