Default Fastest web browser?..

As the title explains, what is the fastest web browser currently. I really dont care about plug-ins nor features, just raw speed. As of now I use safari, and wondering if there are FASTER alternatives EXCLUDING IE.

Also, google chrome can be more of a resource hog than others?
Thanks

Google Chrome is a fast option. But Firefox can be extremely fast too. I strongly prefer Firefox over everything.

Peacekeeper benchmark says that Safari dominates everything IIRC.

I would look into Firefox with various tweaks.

Firefox and Google Chrome.

Chrome uses very little resources if you are browsing with 1 tab, but as you pile on the tabs, the RAM usage goes up exponentially.
