how to get more banwidth in utorrent?

New to Overclock.net
|
hey ive been downloading some huge files fromm uorrent that is 6.54 gigs.
__________________the thing is i was downloading it decently fast, like 175 kb/s, but then it dropped to like 17... its been like this for days and i have no idea how to fix it... any ideas????

Whatever program your using might be have a download cap active (which can be turned off in the settings).
Or there aren't a lot of seeders online for whatever torrent you're downloading which will cause slow download speeds. If one person is currently uploading the data from your torrent at 20kb/s, you're only going to be downloading 20kb/s.

how fast is your connection ???
I have a 6MB line and get 650 kb/s download speed in utorrent(depending on seeds) R u using a router ??? if yes have you opened a port for utorrent ?

Your download speed will go down if your connection is choked on your upload. When you maximum upload is 100 kb/s, set it to 20 kb/s for example.

I usually set my upload at 200Kb/s and regularly download as fast as 1.5Mb/s, depending on the swarm:
![]() That is on a regular 6Mb down line from Comcast. Average is 400-700Kb/s. This was Linux distro I was grabbing, btw.
