Default Learning SQL Server 2008

Hey guys,

So I'm just starting to teach myself SQL Server 2008. I've looked for some good tutorials but can't really seem to find one. I'm still stuck on the main server console window trying to create a database to start messing around with.

If anyone has a good suggestion for online tutorials (even books would work I guess) that would be great. Or if anyone has some tips for me that would be good.

I have MS SQL Server (Dev) x64 (installed everything ) and Visual Studio Pro installed. Let me know if I need any other software too!

Thanks,
Udub.

i downloaded the files for the virtual lab (adventurebox database i believe?) and installed them last night - I then fell asleep while installing Visual Studio 08 haha. When I get out of my Combinatorics class ill get started learning again.

Off topic: combinatorics ... sucks.

So I finally got the code window up so I can create databases:

But where do the databases get created? I thought they show up in the left column in sort of a file tree type thing. (And i need to move databases to a specific hdd)

EDIT: wrong screenshot

EDIT NUMBER 2 I think I got it running! I restarted SQLserver08 and now I have everything on the left!

Well, do you know SQL already? If not, you might want to start with something easier like Access.
