Default Video Zune HD

Hello, what would be in your opinion, the best and simplest way to convert a dvd to a zune hd. I would like it to have the best quality possible.

Thx, and + rep

I used Cucusoft's Suite to rip my (small) DVD collection to Mp4's to put on my zune. It worked great for me and has a lot of options to pick from when ripping the video.

The screen resolution is 480×272. So, leaving it at DVD quality would be the best bet. Unless you want to downscale it to have a lower file size?

Use DVD Decrypter to Rip the DVD files (google it for a guide).
Then use RIPbot264 to convert it (just click on the first VOB file as input and ripbot will automatically splice the rest of them together). Go into properties and change the res and crop out black bars as needed. For best quality, I suggest 4k mpbs 2 pass encoding.

COMA may come in here and give you a proper guide (I learned from him)

Works great for my Zune 80GB, I don't see why it wouldn't for ZuneHD if you pick the right settings.

ok well with the programs, i have to select the dvd, but do i have to choose every vob files and encode them ? And what about the sounds, AudioTS ?

edit : and it looks like i have to decrypt them before, because of the copyrights. Also, would you recommend mp4 or avi. ?

Just use RIPbot264 (it is an mp4 ui). You're not DECRYPTING the dvd, just copying the files verbatim onto the HDD. Then from there, you just have to select the first VOB because RIPbot will take the rest of them and encode them as well giving you one large file in the end.

The worst thing to do would be use a one click DVD converter as the quality will lack severely. And if your DVD has interlaced video, I suggest not changing the resolution from 720x480.

Well i used a program called handbrake, before you suggested this, and it seems like i have to use dvd decrypter, or maybe i have to copy the files on my hd, and then use it as a source. Because if i just select the dvd drive i get an error. Now after the conversion, in mp4, using size 480*272 , i get a 1,15 G file. Is it the smallest video i can get that has a good quality, or would it be possible to have a smaller size while keeping a nice image ? It's a big movie ( The fellowship of the ring ) but still, it uses a lot of space
