It doesn't matter what GPU video encoder you use - the quality is gonna suffer greatly compared to a well-done CPU encode using x264 or such. GPU encoders also tend to be buggy and inflexible...just look at the overwhelming number of flags you can set for x264 or XViD!

It's not just for YouTube oO You used the BAT for YouTube, but it's for pretty much anything. The post explains how to edit it so it works with any input format, not just AVI.

They're both multithreaded... have you ever opened Task Manager while it was running?
hint: it's x264 doing the encoding, not the bat
