I'm not very informative when it comes to video quality, I just do what I saw a long time ago and it brings good results.

I sometimes make the Bitrate lower so that the file size is generally smaller if I don't want to take a long time to upload.

Also if your videos output dark, you can increase the brightness of the video by using the effects option on the video to the far right of the video in the timeline.
Ah thankyou, this one is rather dark I'll have to see to that. Also the quality doesn't seem like a small step down from the source more a huge step down. Should I convert from 1080 to 720 with a program?

Import your original recording into Vegas, and then choose the output options I picked and see how it looks once it's rendered. Mine have always looked nice, but mine are only going from 1360x768 to 1280x720.

You could try just playing the game at 1280x720 so that it records at that actual resolution, and then just render it.

You could also just render it with one of the HD 1280x720 presets.

I'm sure there are better settings, but I'm happy with the one that I use. I also have 480P presets as well which still give great quality but very small file-size.

Use my settings, and if the grass looks washed out, use more bitrate. Change it to 6mbps (8 peak), or maybe a bit more.

The thing is, you will ALWAYS loose quality. If you compare the source to the encode, you will always notice a difference (especially in a texturally demanding game like COD).

Download RIPBOT264. load your AVI, 2 pass at 2k mbps (that's what youtube will encode it to anyways) and click properties and change the res to 1280x720 and render.

If you're gonna use Sony AVC, you might as well use WMV... remember, kids, not all wines are made equal.

use x264 with MPEG4, I got my 6 min video under 176mb and it still has fantastic quality.
