I think xfire works fairly well for a free video recording app. Haven't really tried any others. And I record at half-size.

I used to use crt and tv (component) out in mirror and then just take the component out and plug it in to a tv tuner using my tv as a converter from component to RG59 Coax to another pc when i didn't have my quad and sli setup for an older 3000+ 462 main pc to a slower 478 system to record, and then compress video later.

I accidentally uninstalled fraps and I can't use it again so I'm looking for a new one that provides FPS monitoring and video capturing ...it doesn't have to be free

x2 I use fraps, able to record at 1650x1050 60fps perfectly fine, fraps is mostly CPU driven I couldn't record at that on my E8600. Well worth the 30 bucks or w/e it was

My only gripe with fraps is that every 4gb it starts a new file, I'd rather it not do that.
