Somehow i get the feeling i'm not going to be allowed to do amateur this year

Let it be known, I will compete in the intermediate class this time. Guess i should accelerate the powercoat gear aquisition

I think it would help to have a few examples of "amateur," "intermediate" and "professional" case mods, so people can figure out where they fall in, and maybe get some ideas of mods they can do. I'd love to participate but I really have no idea where to start.

Also, last year we said this as well - use the prize money as a meter. If you use more then $100 on the build, perhaps you should be in intermediate. If you use more then $200, perhaps you should be in Pro.

Just something to think about in terms of where you might want to place yourself.

I took a look at last year's winners and I think even "amateur" is beyond me. Guess I'll have to settle for plain old black and gray.

alexgheiser's build was in amatuer last year &_&(not very amatuer)

and price isnt a very good example as i used like 600 bucks including tools on my sig mod and its definitly not any better than amatuer

Very true, it all comes down to craftsmanship; skilled people can produce things with very simple tools that someone with a fully stocked machine & woodworking shop can only dream to achieve. Having the tools only makes things easier, but you ave to know how to use them.
