guess i better step it up and actually start my case i've been planning for a while.

luckily i started to actually mod my case last week (just put up a long about it tonight) so hopefully its cool with the judges about that.

i'll start with the log and see where it goes from there.

OCN is freaken just awesome on every level.

As stated in the rules, builds for the competition may be started no earlier than December 06, 2008 and all competition logs must be made in the private documenting area.

I have another question. What exactly is the judging criteria? Will we be judged by the hardware that is used in the case as well?

No, this is strictly a "case" mod competition.

Although, finding a way to combine your mod with your hardware has always been a plus it is not required

I may have to retract my entry. I'm getting the feeling that what I do to my murderMod wouldn't be eligible for this competition.

It's had some very pro modifications made to it, and mostly what I'll be doing with it is accessorizing and cable managing and bringing out the beauty. I'm not going to be doing any cutting to it or anything.

Perhaps in a month or so I may feel inclined to mod something, but my murderMod's just not suited for this type of thing. Thanks!

Ditto, if you do not have a dedicated rig for the competition build, then I would recommend installing your current sig rig for the final build photos.

Technically, no computer hardware is required as this is a case mod competition; it just has to be designed to house a PC (regardless of platform). However, having hardware installed adds a lot in terms of appearances; so I'd recommend at least installing some hardware (be it an old rig or your current sig rig) for the final shots. In otherwords, you do not have to have new/dedicated hardware for the competition case.
