Default F@H is disapointing me!

ok so I reformatted my computer (again) a few days ago. beause windows was messed up... some files got dleted somehow... I don't know how no one gets on my computer but me and i didn't have any virus's. Anyways that beside the point. So before reformatting I had gotten 6 p1164's on each core in a row! now I'm getting crappy p2098's and p2096's... granted they don't take long and I'm still getting around the same amount of points... But I really liked those 1164's 600pt/30ish hrs. was really nice. oh well I think I'll still be getting appr 600 pts in 30 some odd hours. We'll see if not I'll be back here moaning and seeing what anyone think I can do... I tried redoing the console 3 times after the reformat but everytime I keep getting these crappy 2090's...

What your doing now is more of a priority at the moment, I have been getting alot myself. usually you get about the same amount of points, but some don't, my point production has droped, but its now starting to pickup.

Hi cowboy,

I've been reading posts on the F@H forum and your concerns are being expressed there as well. Also Stanford has had a few server issues as of late. I'm not sure how they load their different servers or how a particular computer makes connections through the ISP, but some servers with particualr IP addresses "seem" to have the bigger WU's your talking about. However, that changes as well.

I know all of us love overclock.net, but you may want to visit the Stanford forums and check it out... A lot of very knowledgable people over there. Folks like 7im, Uncle Fungus, Bill and many others... Perhaps they can point you towards the servers that have the highest pointed WU's you crave...
I think running the console client makes this task a little easier as well...

BTW - A week ago I was getting just p1607's and 1606's... 53 points each. I've noticed a lot of people getting these WU's right now... Like jrabb stated, the priority shifts within the Stanford group and their studies. Recently, I've been getting numerous p1808's that are logged as "new_refolding"

I hope this helped, :-)

Personally I don't care what WU's I get... I am just happy to help out for the cause and gather a couple of points for overclock.net Those small WU's are important to the research also... so.. keep folding everyone

They have made some changes with work units, they started a new line of tinker cores, most computers are benchmarked so the asignment server will give work units based on that benchmark.

I don't think I've ever gotten a Tinker. I get Gromacs and Double Gromacs, some GBGromacs, but that's it!

I got a tinker on my 2ndary machine (xp2100) once. It wasn't even listed in the current projects list.
