Default Problems with folding.

Hello,

I am using the DOS interface for XP version. I was having problems with crashing games, and other programs with the graphical interface. The FAQ indicated that it would be an openGL conflict. That seems to be better. The other problem which does not seem to go away is when I am compiling C, or saving basic files or using my FTP client and the folding program is running, much get corrupted. It is very frustrating. I want my computer to fold, but I must shut it off when I am using the computer. Anyone else have similar problems? Any solutions?

Then just use the graphical version...that's obviously you solution...
If you're tryin to run it with Linux or KNoppix (which is really commmand-based)...you tend to interfere with line based apps from Folding's DOS based commands...It's a programming thing...hard to explain...
Having a program that IS altering and YOU altering is like trying to delete or mutate files that are set and exist...

Actually I solved half my problems ditching the graphical version. But I still end up getting problems compiling and saving.

As mentioned, I use the folding XP version with XP, not knoppix.

I am not certain I follow the altering argument very well. I should be able to run multiple applications at one time. If I cannot do anything with my computer while it is folding, then I cannot fold. Make sence?

He's using XP and the graphical version gave him more problems. It's helpful if you read the post to understand where his problems lie.
