Well, for the next 5 days I have a rig I can use for folding. (Uncles computer died, he's coming to pick it up Monday next week, so I can use it until then) that needs to connect wirelessly to the internet, or connect through my computer. I don't have a spare crossover cable, and the modem/router are across the house. Is there a way I can save WU to the HD, then move them to my main computer by a thumb drive, and submit them with my computer?

And please dont say buy a new cable, by the time its shipped (buying localy is like $20 for 3FT) I wont have it anymore.

Yes, if you use the console version (in non-service mode), the folding directory is completely portable. You can drop it on any other computer and run it from there to communicate with the outside world. As long as you don't have another instance of the folding application running on the "temporary" computer, you'll be good to go (if that other computer is folding, just shut down the application on it for the short time it takes to transfer the data to/from Stanford and then start it back up).

So, say if I'm sleeping and I'm having both folding.

It'll say "Cannot submit WU" or something similar, like it should when there is no internet connection, when I can, I move the WU files over to the computer with my computer with the connection, but close F@H while I take (and delete?) the WU's off of it, and then....?

Just don't understand what to do after I get it to the computer with the interwebs on it.

Try something like this -

Computer 1 (on the Internet); Computer 2 (off the Internet)

• Fold on both computers
• When computer 2 finishes, copy FAH directory to thumb drive (or similar)
• Copy computer 2 FAH directory to temporary directory on computer 1 (the directory doesn't matter as long as it's different than the computer 1 FAH directory
• Close computer 1 folding application
• Run computer 2 folding application on computer 1. Upload results and download new WU.
• Close computer 2 folding application on computer 1
• Restart computer 1 folding application
• Copy comptuer 2 files back to thumb drive and then to computer 2
• Start folding on computer 2

There is also a way to queue up multiple WUs on the same computer. You can do that when the computer 2 FAH directory is on computer 1 so that you don't have to do this process every day. Also, tell computer 2 to ask you before connecting to the Internet. That will safe a whole bunch of "cannon connect" messages.

I'm just going to do what you said and not have the directory on "Computer 1" since I'll only have it less than a week.
