I'm new to folding, and before I even downloaded the software I alway wondered if I should take the time, and I never realized how easy it was.

Now reading all the post in this very thread I have come to realize that I could have perhaps made it better in the months I have been with OCN by folding alot sooner.

I haven't got a folding rank yet but...

I fold for those in need of help. For those that suffer when suffering shouldn't be reality. I fold for those that have helped in anyway to find a commen cure. A race to the finish line is what I'll be folding for. A race for a cure. For ALL... τύραννος

I've had multiple members of my family die from cancer, but I still don't fold. I used to look for aliens though with SETI@home. They are both beneficial I guess. Something about genetic manipulation doesn't sit well with me. I do like the idea of nanoparticles seeking out the cancer cells and zapping them with radio waves.

I've been one of the lucky people in this world who has not had someone in their family die from Cancer. However, that does not mean it won't happen someday; so I fold to help find a cure so someday, if someone in my family or myself has cancer, there will be a cure for it.

I fold so that one day, the "uncurable" STDs of today such as AIDS, Herpes and Genital Warts can one day be cured, and people can once again get "buck wild" without fear of consequence.

Actually I just came up with that. I started folding when I got a PS3, because it's just so damn efficient at it, and it's not doing anything else while I'm working or sleeping.

I fold for my Grandmother who lost her battle to cancer and my Grandfather who has successfully beaten prostate cancer.

Bump. Lets not forget that its not ALL about PPD.

We get caught up in points and the "fun" of it all.

But underneath that we fold because this is one of the few ways we can fight a monster we cannot touch, see, hear physically.

We fold because we remember the times when we see our loved ones put up a good fight, folding makes us feel like we are doing something with them, for them.

I don't know if there will ever be a cure, but folding makes me feel like I am honoring those who lived through these diseases, both alive and departed.
