Hi guys I may be looking at a new video card for a backup system
The system is AGP, and I would really love to get a X1950 Pro or GT, but those are really expensive and uncommon, and they would be extremely bottlenecked by the CPU anyway. I'm planning on getting either an X1650Pro or XT, and I was just wondering: Will an ATi X1650XT fold faster than my (unlocked) X1800GTO? The XT has 24 "pipelines" while the GTO has 16 if unlocked. I'm pretty sure the X18xx series is better than the X1600 series but is the X1650 still not as good because of the 128-bit memory bus? Thanks

The X1650 is the Midrange card of that generation, they both use the same basic tech for the cores. So to answer your question is that the 1800GTO has more pipes which equals more processing power so it should fold faster.

I didn't know X1800GTO's were unlockable. I guess the "GTO" unlocking series contiunes. Anyway the X1800 series are MUCH more powerfull than any X1600/X1650, by a mile.

X1800GTO Unlocking really varies. Most cards it doesnt work out. The only manufacturer I know of that is succesful is HIS. and sometimes Sapphire.
