ok so I downloaded net 2.0, set up the windows smp, then created a shortcut with the appropiate flags -advmethod -config

now when I do a second one like that to do the dual core one I label the machine id #2

here is the problem

when I bring up the command fah.exe and hit enter it starts running

how do I run fah.exe a second time to get the second instance (machine id #2) running?

if I hit that command again it gives me an error that I already have one running and to hit any key to exit

I noticed I cannot use the fah.exe file in the F@H folder because it gives the program all kind of fits

SMP should be utilizing your 2 cores.
I've not done the windows version, yet, but I'm unsure why you want to run it twice.

hmmmmm....am I confusing running smp with a client version?

so all I have to do is start smp once and thats it?

for some reason I thought you start it for however many cores you have 2= 2x 4= 4x

Open up Windows Task Manager and check how many F@H processes are running + CPU usage.

Did you run the install.bat first, then try to run the fah.exe? Or did you go with the fah.exe first?

I started just the one instance it up last night.

both cores 100% duty

running "normal" except after running all night long I only got 5% done
